Insurers are obligated under the law to explain every detail of your policy to you if you so request. This is called the “duty of utmost good faith”.
If you withold important information from insurers about you or the risk you are insuring, your policy is void and claims will not be paid.
There is a central computer database for all motor insurance claims in Jamaica. Insurers can refer to the site when you apply for cover, to verify what information given.
