Theft of Motor Vehicle

In the event of a stolen motor vehicle the matter should be reported to the Police and the following steps for settlement,

• Ensure that you have the original Certificate of Fitness, Registration Certificate and Title
• If documents were stolen this should be reported to the Police and substitutes procured from the collector of taxes
• Have the Title endorsed and partially transferred at the collectorate and documents on hand 

Insurers will appoint an investigator and thereafter the process may take from four to six weeks for settlement.
